Great News! Free Meals for Frost Elementary students in 2024-25
We are delighted to announce that Frost Elementary has qualified to receive free meals for all students in the 2024-25 school year, a testament to our community's needs being recognized and met.
The Washington State Legislature passed House Bill 1238 during the 2023 legislative session. This bill requires districts to provide free meals to all students enrolled at an elementary school where 30% or more of the students are eligible for free or reduced-price meals. Frost Elementary currently has 31.91% of students eligible for free or reduced-price meals.
Starting with the 2024-25 school year, the district will make free breakfast and lunch available to all students at Frost Elementary.
We encourage all eligible families to complete the Free & Reduced Meals application to maintain eligibility at Frost, even though meals will be free for all students. The school’s eligibility for some programs is reliant on Free & Reduced numbers.
Completing the application will also help ensure that meals remain free in the 2025-26 school year, as free meal eligibility is determined annually.
All families still need to complete Free & Reduced applications in early fall.
