Music

Introduction

Hello, my name is Luke Warren and I am the music teacher at Frost Elementary.  The 2023-24 school year was my first year at Frost, and I am looking forward to sustaining and growing the music program here.  I have been teaching music for over 15 years, and I have taught in a variety of settings, from high school and middle school band to elementary general music.

My mission as a music teacher is to create confident, life-long music learners and performers.  In addition, I want each student to come away from my class with the understanding that music IS a universal language, and that our quality of living only increases when we participate in singing, playing, and learning about the wonderful world of music.

~Mr. Warren, Music Teacher

Curriculum

Each year, each grade level will participate in at least one performance in front of their peers, friends, and family members.  Typically, 4th grade students have a large unit using Recorders, and 5th grade students have an equally large unit using Ukuleles.  1st through 3rd graders will typically sing a collection of songs or complete a mini-musical, and instruments may or may not be included, depending on the music choice.  Kindergarten students usually have a “graduation” performance close to the end of the school year.  Music makes life better!  Come and join in the fun, and be ready to learn!
